Note: This is a fluid list, so be aware that some of this information may or may not be up to date and the crypto market moves quickly. The following information is linked directly from the exchange's site. Also, there are many more exchanges that carry AVAX, this is NOT a comprehensive list.
IMPORTANT: Stable Coins operate differently, so this does not apply to all stable coins.
MetaMask owners: Ensure your Metamask wallet is on the C-chain.
Coinbase does not support Avalanche ERC-20 tokens sent from C-chain addresses or any tokens (incl. AVAX) sent from P-Chain or X-chain addresses. Unsupported tokens sent to your Coinbase wallet address will result in a permanent loss of funds. C-Chain Avalanche addresses will always start with '0x'.
Crypto.com - Crypto.com App now supports deposits and withdrawals on the Avalanche’s Contract Chain (AVAX C-Chain)
Depositing and withdrawing from exchanges
Before attempting to deposit or withdraw from any exchange, make sure that the exchange supports the Avalanche network (Note: stable coins require more scrutiny as token names may look the same but they may reside on different blockchains). Check if the chain is supported (some exchanges support both the X-Chain and the C-Chain, some just one or the other). Even though all exchanges support deposit and withdrawal of AVAX, not all of them support various other tokens that exist on the platform. Check with their support before sending the transaction. Failing to do so might result in a loss of tokens!
