  1. Open the Account Manager by clicking on the account name at the top of Core extension.

  2. Click on the arrow on the right side of the address and select Show Private Key.

  3. Select the Private Key to export: C-Chain or X/P-Chain.

  4. Enter the wallet's password and click Next.

  5. Record the Private Key and then click Done.

What is the difference between the C-Chain and X/P-Chain Private Key?

Importing the X/P-Chain private key into another wallet will derive different EVM and Bitcoin addresses. The Avalanche C-Chain and Bitcoin network use a different derivation path than the X/P-Chains do, resulting in different private keys being associated with these addresses.

More information on the Avalanche derivation paths can be found in this article.

NOTE:

  • Private Key exports are only available for mnemonic wallets.

  • Do not share Private Keys with any other individuals. If someone obtains this Private Key, they can access the address and its funds. The Product Support team or any other support admins will never ask for this key when assisting users with technical issues.
