How are C, X, and P-Chain addresses derived?

With Avalanche® having 3 chains (C, X, and P), each with its own purpose, you may wonder if there is a "main" wallet or if one is derived from another.

If you used a mnemonic to create the wallet then X and P addresses will share the same address space, but C will be derived on a different path.


If it is done by private key then all addresses are derived from that key.
