Cross-chain transfers in Core involves moving AVAX between the Avalanche P-Chain, C-Chain, and X-Chain. These transfers are crucial for staking, which requires AVAX to be on the P-Chain. Understanding the source and destination chains, import and export transactions, as well as the role of UTXOs, is key to successful transfers.

For a cross-chain transfer to complete two transactions must complete β an export and import to move AVAX between the Avalanche C, P and X-chains. If the second transaction is not signed, the cross-chain transfer will be incomplete and a remaining UTXO will require importing. If so, users may not see their balance properly reflected on their Portfolio page. Use Core web to Import the outstanding UTXO to complete the cross-chain process.
