Core web: What if my cross-chain transaction didn't work?

A cross-chain transfer involves signing two transactions – an export and import to fully complete moving AVAX between chains. If the second transaction is not signed, the cross-chain transfer will be incomplete and a remaining UTXO will require importing. At this point, users may not see their balance properly reflected on their Portfolio page. To remedy this, simply use Core web to Import the outstanding UTXO to complete the cross-chain process.

  1. Go to the Stake page and select Cross-chain transfer. Look for a notification prompting to click the Recover button at the top of the page.

    1. If the notification doesn’t appear, make sure you select the correct source-to-destination path of the initial transaction (e.g., P→C-Chain or X→C-Chain).

  2. Once visible, click the Recover button, followed by Step 2 Approve Import to recover any stuck funds from a previously incomplete cross-chain transfer.

Directly on Stake, users may also see a notification for transactions stuck in Atomic Memory, similar to outstanding UTXO's. Atomic transactions that remain unimported may affect the appearance of an account balance until they are cleared.
